If you’re a Twitter addict like me, you’ll go mental if you got to meet @biz.

Okay, so I know I said that What The Tweet isn’t juuussstttt about Twitter but hey, how can I resist talking about it twice (in two days, mind you) when I got the chance to meet one of the co-founders of Twitter himself?

Yup, Biz Stone (or @biz for those of you on Twitter) was in KL for the Youth Exchange Summit at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre yesterday. He was speaking to about 1,200 people who attended the summit. He spoke a little bit about the power of social media, how Twitter started and shared some of the company’s philosophy.

Truth be told, I didn’t find his talk particularly inspiring. Most of the stories he shared about Twitter – such as the incident involving James Buck, the then-journalism student who was taken into custody in Egypt while covering an anti-government protest and Tweeted “Arrested”, mobilising efforts to get him released – were not particularly new.

Nevertheless, watching him walk into the press conference and sitting right in front of me (I chose to sit on the chair right up front) was quite an experience.

I only managed to get one question through however.

After the press conference, Biz politely posed for photos for photographers. I didn’t manage to get a picture with him, mainly because everyone swarmed over him. A friend of mine – @ZhiQ got his attention long enough for a picture. The trick that did it? Well, @ZhiQ brought along with him a copy of Biz’s first ever book for an autograph.
