ACTOR Remy Ishak, 29, has finally come clean about his relationship status with 22-year-old Tiz Zaqyah – they are indeed dating.

After almost two years of claiming that they were “just friends”, Remy opened up about his love life when met at the set of his upcoming movie 29 Februari.

In the interview, he stated that he never had any intentions of keeping his relationship with his Nur Kasih co-star under wraps, as claimed by some parties.

Instead, Remy said that he was simply being careful about his affair with Tiz as they are still in the beginning stages of a relationship.

“I am dating Tiz right now but I don’t want to create a big fuss over it because we are still trying to get to know each other better.

“Besides, we don’t want others to expect too much out of our relationship, because things could turn sour in the future,” he said.

“Unless, of course we are intending to get married, then I would definitely tell everyone about it. And for those who know about our relationship now, well, I don’t mind that they do.”

Remy and Tiz’s love affair became a much talked-about topic when they were seen holding hands while watching the MotoGP event in Sepang, Selangor last year. The duo was also often spotted together at social events.

What’s more interesting is that there even were wild claims that Remy and Tiz had shacked up together in a condominium within the capital city. The rumour however fizzled out soon after as both parties declined to comment on that matter.

Recently, Tiz was spotted beside Remy at the location of a movie shoot and they were seen feeding each other during meal time.

Speaking of 29 Februari, a movie by KRU Studios, Remy is playing the character of Budi – who’s born on Feb 29 and only ages once every four years.

According to Remy, filming the movie proved to be quite tough as he had to portray a character who was born in the 18th century and lives right up to the year 2012. The character, he said, had seen a lot of drastic changes in all the eras he lived through.

“It wasn’t easy for me to carry out this role. It was very challenging as Budi’s image went through five major transformations throughout his life. There were various hairstyles that had to be recreated.

“Besides that, I also had to sing for this role. This is not the same as my singing for the stage show Natrah because in this movie, I have to sing according to to the character’s particular emotions during a scene,” he said.

Apart from Remy, the movie, directed by Edry Abdul Halim, also features Jojo Goh, Izzue Islam, Dian P. Ramlee, Ramli Hassan, Johan Abdullah, Naim Daniel, Riz Amin and Achong.

The movie is scheduled for a release next year.

Intimate times

If most local celebrity couples prefer to hide or deny the special relationship that has blossomed between them, the same cannot be said for newbie Tryambikay Vengades or better known as Bkay Nair.

Recently, newcomer actress Bkay came forward with a startling announcement regarding her relationship with …Dalam Botol actor Arja Lee.

According to the Ratu The Movie actress, she is comfortable befriending Arja as he is a respectful and pleasant gentleman.

And it has been proven that the statement wasn’t just gossip after all.

When met recently, Arja – who hit stardom thanks to his controversial scene and potrayal of a transsexual named Ruby in the movie …Dalam Botol – said that they became closer since Ramadan this year.

Although Arja admits that it is still too early to talk about his relationship with Bkay, he doesn’t oppose to the idea of taking things further with the actress.

“I have been close with Bkay since Ramadan and all the allegations saying that we’re out together is true.

“However, we are not in a serious romantic relationship yet. We’re just friends and there is nothing serious going on between us,” he said.

During that interview, Arja also said that he and Bkay have indeed planned to walk the red carpet together at the upcoming Malaysian Film Festival later this month.

Arja is currently busy with his final semester studying Performing Arts at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang.

Meanwhile, Bkay is said to be considered for the role of a princess in a musical set to be staged at Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur next year.
