IN case you haven’t heard … R.AGE won its first regional award at the Asian Digital Media Awards 2011 in Hong Kong last week!

R.AGE won the gold medal in the Best In Social Media category, beating Singapore Press Holding’s “STOMP” (bronze) and Guangdong Southern Weekly New Media’s “Southern Weekly @SNS” (silver).

Of course, we would not have won the award without the support of our readers and faithful followers on our social media network pages – Facebook and Twitter. R.AGE believes that all the interaction and communication between us and our readers have helped us grow as a youth platform.

R.AGE hopes that we have so far managed to do a good job of reaching out to and speaking the minds of Malaysia’s youth and will continue to do so in times to come.

The awards were presented during a ceremony organised by the World Association of newspapers and news Publishers (WAN-Ifra), which was held in conjunction with the Digital Media Asia 2011 conference.

The Star also won the gold medal for the Best In Tablet Publishing for The Star iPad and a bronze medal for its video, Disappearing Underwater Rainforest in the Best In Online Video category.
