ARE you interested in the performing arts? Do you have a flair for bringing words to life? If so, we have just the right platform for you to explore that budding passion.

Islands and Cities, a project led by renowned Singaporean actress and director Tan Kheng Hua, will see six young playwrights from Penang and Singapore chosen for a playwriting immersion workshop in conjunction with the George Town Festival 2014 in Penang.

All six writers will be actively working on their own play during the five-day workshop (June 5-10) and mentored by the award-winning Huzir Sulaiman. Their evolving drafts will then go through peer as well as professional review throughout the programme.

Huzir Sulaiman and Claire Wong will be mentoring and directing the works of six young playwrights from the Islands and Cities workshop.
