Yes, our fame and fortune has already had the Wonder Boys at each others’ throats, and the band is now on the brink of Britney Spears-style self-destruction.

Of course not. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Being non-professional musicians (except for Liang), we all have our menial, tiresome day jobs that are making it almost impossible to have a good run of rehearsals.

So far, we’ve only rehearsed with Liang TWICE, because he’s been really busy with his musical Follow The Light, which I hear has gotten some pretty good reviews. I’m gonna go check it out once our gig is done =)

Follow The Light is a modern take on the Christmas story, and that's Liang being a hippity-hop Wiseman =P

But with less than three days to our debut gig this Sunday night, our drummer is now unavailable for rehearsals until the afternoon of the gig itself. But I don’t blame him. He’s arrived earliest for ALL our rehearsals so far, and he’s given his best for the gig; but when work calls, there’s really nothing you can do about it.

We haven’t had a chance to practice with our new keyboardist either, Linet (from experimental band Juanophobia), who we’ll also meet for the first time on our Sunday afternoon rehearsal.

Less than ideal preparations, but I guess we’ll just have to wing it and be spontaneous. I know some musicians would prefer that, but I’d prefer to have everything nailed down rock solid before we improvise over anything. I’m a bit anal that way.

Anyway, listening to this Stevie Wonder track has made me feel a little better, and I hope it’ll do the same for you:

The song is Knocks Me Off My Feet, a brilliant love song with a simple message – I love you, I love you, I love you.

Guys, this is the track you wanna be singing to that girl you’re after 😉
