It came as a great shock to me to learn that one of my favorite Magic: the Gathering illustrators, Quinton Hoover, had just passed on recently. He also contributed artwork in other games, including the Legend of the Five Rings Card Game.

I’ll fondly remember him for being one of the “greats”, for illustrating the first Magic sets. His style was very unique – surreal and beautiful at the same time.
