CHRISTMAS is in three days (yay!), and there are bound to be some last-minute shoppers – just like me – scratching their heads over what to give their friends and family.

My family recently suggested we only get each other a gift that cost under RM30. It sounded like a good idea at first but then again, Christmas is but once a year, so splurging on the people you love is really not such a big deal.

After going through a few stores, I’ve come up with some gift ideas your friends and family will love. Here are just a number of suggestions:

Accessories

You can’t go wrong with giving pretty little accessories to girls of all ages. From earrings and bracelets to scarves and hairbands, accessories are the easiest things to get a friend of family member of the fairer sex.

Accessories from Peacocks

Of course, most guys now are quite fashionable, too, so do look out for things like belts, hats, rings and wristbands.

Shops like Peacocks in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, offer lovely little trinkets for a good price.

Bags

Again, like accessories, a girl can never have enough bags because she needs one for every occasion.

At Topshop, you can get all kinds of bags but there’s one particular clutch that’s not just flashy and stylish, it’s also perfect for the season!

Your lucky friend can take this bag to a Christmas dinners, parties with friends and it’s also just about fancy enough to bring to a happenning New Year’s Eve bash.

Little additions

We know, we know, this country is steaming hot and no one really wears hats and scarves but why not step out of your comfort zone for a little while?

If I can’t persuade you to do that, then maybe this sequined beret and scarves from Peacocks will do the trick. If there’s one time in the year that you can throw on the unconventional, it’s Christmas, so what are you waiting for?

Simple tees

There are days when you just don’t feel like dressing up and you just want to throw on a T-shirt and be done with it.

Well, stock up on a couple of quirky tees from Uniqlo and hand them out to friends. Uniqlo has a whole range of graphic tees for you to choose from, for both men and women.

Hoodies

It has been raining a lot lately, and many a time I’ve just felt like curling up in bed with a nice, thick hoodie. Good hoodies are hard to come by, but if there’s one store you can find them, it’s Bossini.

They’ve got hoodies in a variety of colours, and they are neither too thick nor too thin for the weather in Malaysia.
