“We’ve been through a lot of hardship, so I’m very happy for what we’ve achieved today. I’m proud of my coaches, my parents and also the supporters. Eleven months of hard work has paid off.” – Dynamitez captain, Jesselyn Loh, 17.

Second runners-up: Calyx, SMJK Katholik

“I’m proud of my team and how far we’ve come. This is definitely worth our hard work, and our win today is the result of us being united as one.” – Calyx captain, Teo Pei Yun, 17.

CHEER Co-Ed category

Champion: Zodiac Co-Ed, SMK Kepong

“We didn’t think we could be champions. We had some injuries but that didn’t stop us from performing. We enjoyed every moment spent with the team and that brought us closer together.” – Zodiac Co-Ed captain, Chong Zhen Wei, 15.

First runners-up: Mickeymitez, SMK Damansara Jaya

“I expected better, unfortunately, things didn’t go our way. Some of our teammates panicked and fell. But we’re lucky nobody got injured. We will definitely work harder to be champion next year!” – Mickeymitez co-captain, Siow Wei Xing, 16.

“I am really blessed to have this team. Without these amazing people, Calyx Co-Ed wouldn’t be here today and earning second runner up. Regardless, I always tell the team that they are champions to me and should have no regrets.” – Calyx Co-Ed captain, Jason Ah, 17.

CHEER All-Girls Junior category

Champion: Rayvens, Sri Kuala Lumpur

“It’s challenging being in a cheerleading team because there are always injuries. But I’m glad we pulled through and defended our title.” – Rayvens captain, Grace Tan, 17.

First runners-up: Vibrant, SMK Puteri Titiwangsa

“We didn’t expect to get second place because the nerves made us mess up on one of the stunt sequences and the pyramid was shaky. But I’m super proud of my teammates for coming this far.” – Vibrant captain, Lee Ivy, 17.

Second runners-up: Blitzerz, SMK Bandar Utama Damansara (4)

“It feels really good to win because we’ve been losing for years. I’m just really proud of my teammates because it’s really unexpected. We had people leaving the team a lot of times. It was around February when we finally got a whole team together.” – Blitzerz captain, Yoyo Ho, 16.

Vibrant, SMK Puteri Titiwangsa

“We didn’t expect to win because ours seemed very normal compared to the other teams. We had to go to school at 4.30am and it took around an hour for us to be done with our makeup!” – Vibrant captain, Lee Ivy, 17.

“We shared our selection as one of the finalists on Facebook and Twitter, asking our friends and family to vote. Students from other schools voted for us, too.” – Mickeymitez captain, Siow Wei Xing, 16.
