Three cheers for Malaysia’s Team HDC!

The three young students who form the team gave a pretty solid presentation today at the first round of the software design category at Microsoft’s Imagine Cup 2010 and impressed the judges!

The team – consisting of members Keith Khoo, Lee Chong Yang and Choong Yen Yen – introduced Project Apple to four judges at the “Olympics of Technology”, this year held in Warsaw, Poland. They were given a hard time by some of the judges but eventually emerged semi-finalist at the event.

The Software Design category is one of the highlights of the whole event.

Sixty eight teams from around the world presented in the category today, and Team HDC – representing UCTI (Asia Pacific University College of Technology and Innovation – were one of the 12 teams to make it past the first day.

They will present again today (July 5) in the second round to a new set of judges.

The team is alsovying for the People’s Choice Award, which you can help them win. Until July 7, videos of the worldwide finalist Imagine Cup teams and their innovations will be showcased here.

To vote, simply select a country (we’re partial to Malaysia, of course!) or browse through the projects to see how these students are using technology to help solve tough problems and make an impact on the world. The
team with the most votes will be honored with the People’s Choice Award at the Imagine Cup World Festival and Awards Ceremony on July 8th, which will be available via live webcast on the Imagine Cup website (more details to come tomorrow).

*Hint* You can keep voting for the team if you want to several times!
