Amazing gowns graced the red carpet at the Met Gala 2011 which celebrated the late designer Alexander McQueen through the exhibition ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’.

The annual gala opening the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s exhibit drew dozens of fashion heavyweights to pay tribute to the late designer.

Many stars showed up in Alexander McQueen gowns, but those that chose to wear other labels looked just as fabulous. Here are some creations that stood out:
