THE holidays are over and predictably, many people would have put on a few extra kilos thanks to delicious Christmas spreads and New Year’s eve partying.

Now might not be the best time to shop for your regular clothing size but there is always hope – your feet don’t expand overnight, so go out and buy shoes!

There’s still some time to shop before Chinese New Year and the annual reunion dinner where you come out in your best gear to impress relatives you haven’t seen in ages, so hurry and hit the stores!

Vincci + brand manager Adeline Chew brought out some items that are hot on the market now to share with readers.

“For the spring/summer season, there are two main hues – grey and nude. Natural tones are the way to go,” Adeline began.

“The trends that are coming up are more feminine. We’re moving away from the gladiator styles and towards more subtle one like cut-outs,” she said.

Adeline revealed that peep-toes, platforms and wedges would be the thing to look out for in the coming months.

“The spring/summer look is very fun and girly, and easy to wear. Styles like wedges and lace-up flats make outfits less formal,” she said.

Despite the “party” season being over, this doesn’t mean you should rule out all attention-grabbing styles.

“If you love fashion, be daring. There will definitely be opportunities for you to wear your party shoes. After all, you can always store your shoes away for when party season comes around,” Adeline advised.

Animal prints are very hot at the moment, and will remain so for another few months before something else kicks in.

Patent leather, too, is starting to phase out, being replaced by soft leather, suede and organic materials like linen, raffia and canvas.

While huge metal embellishments are also on the way out, big buckles, studs, fringe, beads and plastic gemstones are the way to go this season.
