THERE’S a new award at CHEER this year, and YOU can help pick the winner!

The U Cheer Off! is a video contest for all schools participating in CHEER 2014. The school with the most votes will have its CHEER team receive the brand new #CHEER4U Award.

To participate, the teams will have to submit a 30-second video of a cheerleading routine to umobilevip@gmail.com.

It’s as simple as that!

There will be an initial knockout round where all the participating teams will be divided into six groups.

After that, it’s up to you – the public – to vote for the best video.

All you have to do is like the U Mobile Facebook page (facebook.com/umobile), watch the videos on the CHEER app, and vote for your favourite.

The top teams from each group will then advance into a final round, where they’ll battle it out for the top spot.

The team with the most votes wins the grand prize of ZTE V817 smartphones, prepaid SIM packs and top-up vouchers for all 25 team members, worth a total of RM10,700.

Teams can start submitting their videos from Aug 8-14, while the public can start voting from Aug 16-21.

And don’t forget – the CHEER 2014 finals will be held from August 23-24 at the Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil.

Admission is free, so make sure you come join us at one of the country’s most exciting sporting events!

* The U Cheer Off! contest is brought to you by U Mobile, R.AGE and CHEER 2014. For more information, check out facebook.com/umobile.
