Some things just are meant to be. Like peanut butter and jelly; Snow White and some dwarves; Cheer finals and Jeremy Teo … and Terry Ong and Azura Zainal.

Yup, that’s right. Red FM’s very own Jerry, Terry and Azura will be your host for Cheer 2012 at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam on June 16 and 17.

Before we go any further, do you remember who hosted the first Cheer finals back in 2000? If you guessed Azura, give yourself a pat on the back and maybe treat yourself to bubble tea or something. It is Azura.

The petite Red FM deejay will be back on the Cheer mat as a host after 11 years, and former cheerleader is looking forward to see what routines the teams have in store this weekend.

Terry and Azura

“I like to see them throw one another in the air and sometimes I imagine myself being in the air with them,” she said.

The deejay also noted that the level of showmanship and talent among the Cheer participants have increased over the years.

“I’m sure that if we were to send our team to an international competition, they’d fit in really well.”

Azura’s The Red Fix co-host Ong said he’s not surprised to find out that she was once a cheerleader in secondary school.

“Considering how her hair looks like pompons now, can’t say I’m surprised.”

Ong is also looking forward to the finals this weekend after watching some of the teams’ training videos on YouTube.

“The amount of dedication these boys and girls put into their routines is amazing, I’m very excited to see how high they fly and how many flips they can do.”

Teoh too said he can’t wait to see the huge crowd at Stadium Malawati.

“The energy is absolutely insane. I love the fact that everyone goes there and they just want to have fun,” he said.

Jeremy Teo

Ong warns everyone to expect the unexpected and Azura just wants everybody to have lots of fun at Cheer 2012 finals this weekend.

“We’re going to bring out the fun in everyone participating and of course from the crowd,” added Azura.

Teoh on the other hand simply wants to eat lots of Sugus and go around putting Silkygirl makeup on random people.

Head over to Stadium Malawati Shah Alam this weekend and be a part of what is going to be the most epic stadium experience ever.
