THERE is less than a week to go before the most anticipated cheerleading competition in Malaysia takes place. All the final arrangements are being made and a whole new set of sponsors have come on board!

CHEER 2015 is going to be a gruelling experience for the cheerleaders and every bit of support from the sponsors is going to go a long way.

Beverage sponsor POKKA, for example, aims to keep participants and audience alike hydrated throughout the day with its healthy thirst-quencher, Jasmine Green Tea.

POKKA will be sponsoring 298 crates in total and hopes its presence at the event will help the brand fit into the active lifestyles of young people today.

According to POKKA brand manager Michelle Chua, the brand is happy to support CHEER in its objective to educate young people on team spirit and sportsmanship.

Fuelling the cheerleaders for the day will be The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) with its Single Combo Meal that includes a bowl of its signature chicken rice and a serving of roasted chicken.

“As a family-oriented restaurant, we believe in encouraging the younger generation to reach for their dreams. We are happy to treat the participants to our great-tasting chicken rice and for those who still have not tried our food, we hope they enjoy our meals,” said Wong Kah Lin, CEO of TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd.

For the cheerleaders who have been on a strict diet leading up to the competition, they can finally indulge in some sugary treats – Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! There will be a total of 80 dozen of their famous Original Glazed doughnuts as well as 8,000 vouchers worth over RM100,000 up for grabs.

Be sure to collect those vouchers, especially as Krispy Kreme will be introducing the Malaysiana Flavours which include Pandan Kaya crumble, Gula Melaka coconut sprinkles and Red Velvet cake in the near future.

“Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has a heritage of supporting the local communities, globally. CHEER represents fun and energy which goes hand-in-hand with our global mission which is ‘To touch and enhance lives through the joy that is Krispy Kreme’,” said Krispy Kreme marketing manager Clara Goh.

Another huge factor that helps push the cheerleaders to their limits when striving for victory is confidence. And according to Jack Law, senior manager of Kinohimitsu, a great complexion is essential to boosting young people’s self-confidence.

Kinohimitsu is sponsoring 2,000 of its Clear Activ sample sachets worth RM10,000 as well as several RM10 discount coupons for their products.

“Everyone is looking to lead a healthier lifestyle these days and with the increase in demand for beauty and health supplements, we would like to take this opportunity to get closer to our end user,” said assistant general manager Winnie Pok.

To help put the kick in the cheerleaders’ kicks, RSH (M) Sdn Bhd is sponsoring RM100 off a pair of Keds shoes for each cheerleader on four winning teams. They can pick any Keds shoes from a wide selection available at RSH outlets.

“CHEER is targeted at high school students and this matches our brand profile very well. We hope to gain greater brand awareness amongst the participants, their friends and the general crowd that will be coming to support the event,” said advertising and promotions manager Kiki Lee.
